Savannah and TJ met in college. Even though they had many mutual friends and spent time together at the same internship, the pair never pursued romance. However, after Savannah moved to Dallas in May of 2013, the friends quickly fell in love. Savannah called on TJ, who had moved to Dallas a year prior, to show her around the city. TJ not only said yes to being a tour guide, but he set up a date night at the Mavericks game. After the game—which to Savannah’s surprise was a date—they met up for dinner a few times, discovered their mutual love for brunch, and were inseparable ever since.
Two years after dating, the pair decided to go to the Arboretum on a beautiful day in March. When Savannah saw another couple taking engagement photos, she subtly hinted to TJ how fun that must be. Little did she know TJ was about to ask her the question of a lifetime. The couple walked around the gardens for a while and suddenly stopped in front of her favorite flowers–tulips. TJ soon after got down on one knee and asked Savannah to marry him. The shocked and surprised Savannah said “thank you” instead of “yes.” When she came to her senses, Savannah answered his question and soon after, the newly engaged couple spent the rest of the day celebrating.
TJ attended the University of Central Arkansas and graduated with a BBA in finance. He is an accountant for IDLife in Frisco. Savannah also attended the University of Central Arkansas and graduated with a BS in public relations. She is an account coordinator at Odyssey Information Services in Plano. The couple will marry Saturday, April 23, 2016, in TJ’s hometown of Fayetteville, Arkansas at Son’s Chapel. The reception will follow at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks.
