Tierney and Jared share a deep passion for travel and adventure—the couple ventured to 25 destinations and five countries while dating—so it’s no wonder they chose a destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas for their nuptials on October 24, 2015. Jared even popped the question abroad on a last-minute work trip to Italy (where he talked Tierney into joining him) after enjoying an all-day private wine tasting tour in the northern Italian countryside. As the sun was setting at the end of a beautiful day, Jared got down on one knee and asked Tierney to be his bride.
When it was time to start planning, Tierney said Cabo was an easy choice. “We loved the idea of creating an entire wedding experience rather than it just being about one day. Since Jared’s parents live in Cabo part-time, we were familiar with the location and vendors and knew we could pull off a stress-free wedding. It was perfect,” the bride says.
She chose pops of orange and gold as her signature colors on not only the decor, but also on little details throughout the wedding weekend such as the wedding invitations, welcome bags, hand-painted maracas, and tile table numbers. “Orange is bright and cheerful and we wanted everyone to have fun,” she explains.
Looking back on the wedding weekend, it was hard for the couple to choose just one moment—from the Friday night welcome fiesta to the firework finale—that was the most special. However it was the intimate ceremony officiated by a dear family friend that the bride looks back on fondly. “Every piece of the ceremony was personalized and heartfelt,” she says. “We received a copy of the ceremony to keep and we wrote and said our own vows to each other.”
