All it took was a year and a half of knowing each other for this couple to realize they were meant to be. After moving from Atlanta, Georgia back home to Dallas, a close childhood friend invited Kalyn out to a night on the town. That night, Kalyn was introduced to Blake and the pair hit it off immediately. Kalyn knew right away that Blake was caring when he showed sincere interest in her career and hobbies. It was like fate; the two didn’t exchange numbers that night but ended up running into each other again a few weeks later. Blake asked Kalyn out on a date that night and the two have been inseparable ever since.

Setting up a fake double date was all part of Blake’s proposal plan. Blake told Kalyn to get dressed up for a nice double date dinner at The Mansion on Turtle Creek, but when the other couple called and said they were running an hour late, Blake made a planned detour. He pulled up to Arlington Hall at Lee Park and asked Kalyn to get out of the car. Blake was so nervous that it only took 30 seconds of walking around before he got on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes.

As for the couple who was meeting them for their double date? They were on site taking pictures of the special moment. The night ended with happy tears, laughter, champagne, and a surprise party with the couple’s friends and family.

Blake went to Texas Christian University where he studied finance and he is now a commercial real estate portfolio manager for Bank of America in Dallas. Kalyn went to Auburn University where she studied public relations and is now a public relations and communications specialist for Mannatech in Dallas. The couple will marry on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at First Christian Church in the bride’s hometown of Wichita Falls, Texas.
