Nathan Brown approached Missy Boyle at a bar in uptown and introduced himself as “guy number four.” He told his friends that he wouldn’t leave the bar until he got a chance to talk to her. Six months later, they went on their first date. They chatted over a glass of wine for four straight hours. She describes it as an instantaneous connection. After that night, Nathan asked her to go on another date the same week and even hopped on an earlier flight home from a work trip to Denver so that he could take her out. He knew that Missy loved to dine on fabulous food, so he made a date at Rise No. 1 for their famous souffles. From that date on, they were inseparable.
Missy describes the proposal as “so sweet and very us.” They had a relaxed morning going to brunch and the bookstore. They got home and were lounging around in their workout clothes and Nathan asked Missy if she’d like to go to dinner to try a new restaurant. He picked up the latest issue of D Magazine and wanted to flip through it to find a place to eat. He started reading off options and came across Rise No. 1. He started to tell Missy that the last year and a half was the happiest time of his life and that it was all due to meeting her. He walked around the couch, pulled out a ring box, and Missy started to catch on to what was happening. She started to cry and Nathan got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. They called all of their friends and family to tell them the good news and spent the evening celebrating at Rise No. 1.
Missy attended Southern Methodist University and studied psychology and sociology. She works at Compass PHS. Nathan went to the University of Oklahoma and studied engineering. He works for Jones Lang LaSalle. They will marry October 4, 2014 at The Joule Hotel.
