Sean and MacKenzie went to the same college and hung out with the same group of friends, but it wasn’t until they made a move to Washington D.C. that they met. After being randomly assigned to live in the same apartment via a Texas A&M internship program, they became friends. They bonded over a clean kitchen, craft beers, and chef Anthony Bourdain. The couple explored the city together and ended up not only falling in love with D.C., but with each other.
Sean knew that MacKenzie would not be comfortable (ahem, mortified) with a grand gesture in public. So, he planned an intimate and personal engagement. He woke up early and brought MacKenzie her favorite breakfast of bagels and lox. As they chatted over coffee, he reminded her that this was the first meal they ate when they first moved in together. He asked her if she’d have breakfast with him for the rest of her life, and somewhere through the tears, she said yes.
Sean and MacKenzie went to Texas A&M University. MacKenzie graduated with a BBA in marketing, a minor in English, and a minor in international business. She works for Hilton Worldwide as a manager of social media communications. Sean graduated with a B.S. in poultry science and is a senior digital specialist for J.C. Penney. They will marry Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 129 Leslie in the Dallas Design District.
