Preston Murphy and Mary Martha Kidd met as undergraduates at the University of Texas. They were both members of the waterski team. “We love to tell the story because, ironically, it is exactly how both of our parents met and fell in love,” says Mary Martha. Her parents met on the waterski team at the University of Louisiana in Monroe and Preston’s met on the waterski team at the University of Texas. It was an obvious sign that they were meant to be.
The couple planned their wedding at Southfork Ranch on Saturday, May 24, 2014, with a traditional southern charm theme with rustic elements. They wanted to make the day as unique and meaningful as possible, such as dancing their first dance to a band they’ve seen together multiple times throughout their relationship.
