Taylor Paton and Bryce Lough met at a birthday party at the University of Notre Dame in 2011. It was neither of their birthdays and Taylor and Bryce did not attend Notre Dame, but fate wouldn’t have it any other way. When they both ended up at a mutual friend’s apartment for the aforementioned party, they ended up chatting. They both went their separate ways—she to Washington D.C. and he to Lewis University near Chicago—but they continued to chat and get to know each other. Taylor made many trips to Chicago to visit Bryce and their relationship started to blossom.
Bryce had plans to propose in Paris. But in a series of unfortunate events, the engagement ring was stolen. He kept the ring in an engagement ring box inside another box inside a fireproof box where they kept important papers and information. After they made a move to a new place, Bryce went to look for her ring and realized that it was gone. They called the police and thankfully recovered the ring two weeks later. (One of the movers stole it but ended up turning it over.) When Bryce picked up the ring from the police station, he wrote on the back of a book of photos that Taylor made from all of their trips they took the first year they dated. When she started to read the note, she cried as he got down on one knee and proposed. As for the Paris trip? They took their engagement pictures there instead.
Taylor graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame in 2012 with a bachelor of arts in political science. She will receive her masters in public administration from the University of North Texas in December 2014. She works for the City of Richardson. Bryce graduated from Lewis University with a bachelor of science in air traffic control management in December 2011. He works for the FAA at the Fort Worth Center. They will marry Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the Northeast Wedding Chapel in Hurst.
