WHEN TO GO:
The best time to go is the dry season, which runs from February to May. Between June and August is Belize’s rainy season, so you might want to look into getting travel insurance if you book your trip then.
WHAT TO KNOW:
• The Belize dollar is the currency used. Two Belize dollars are equal to one U.S. dollar. Everyone in Belize accepts the U.S. dollar and will give back Belize dollars in change.
• Plugs are two-pronged, flat. You do not need a converter or adaptor.
• Belize is in the Central Time Zone but does not observe Daylight Savings Time.
HOW TO GET THERE:
Take a two-hour direct flight from DFW to Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport. From there, you’ll take a small plane to the Punta Gorda airstrip, where a representative from Belcampo will meet you and drive you the 15 minutes to the lodge.

WHEN TO GO:
While the temperature rarely dips below 70 degrees, the best time to visit (read: not hurricane season) is from December to mid-April.
WHAT TO KNOW:
• No need to exchange your American dollars for Bahamian ones—both currencies are accepted on the island.
• While we prefer letting our hair go au natural when at the beach, feel free to bring your flat iron: The same outlets are used in the Bahamas as in the United States.
• The Bahamas are in the Eastern Time Zone and observe Daylight Savings Time.
