When Stacey moved to Dallas, the last thing she expected was to fall in love with a mysterious man from a far, far away land. As soon as Stacey joined Match.com she was instantly captivated by Dragan. The European gentleman took Stacey to Blue Sushi for their first date and joked that he “fell in love with Stacey and sushi in the same night.” The couple became absolutely engrossed with each other and knew there was something special between them. Two years later, Stacey and Dragan bought a home together and as their anniversary approached, Dragan devised a plan to ask Stacey to be his one and only. After asking Stacey to “help him with some wiring in the kitchen” Dragan surprised his bride-to-be with a ring.
The two sealed the deal on Saturday, September 26, 2015, in the whimsical gardens of Marie Gabrielle. “It was a figment of my imagination filled with romance,” says Stacey. Inspired by the natural beauty of the gardens, Stacey knew she wanted to have a soft, dreamy color scheme. The reception was filled with graceful decor featuring string lights in the trees and hanging chandeliers. “It was my version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” she said.
Stacey and Dragan shared a special moment together before the big day officially began by practicing their first dance one last time that morning. The bride felt “surrounded by friendship and love, including my bridesmaids that I’ve known for about 20 years,” she says. Magic was in the air that day as Stacey had always imagined herself being nervous on her wedding day but woke up very calm, knowing she had chosen the right one.
