If you’ve driven down Main Street in downtown Dallas lately, you’ve probably been wondering what the heck the big ol’ eyeball is that sits on the green space across from The Joule Hotel. It’s all part of Tim Headington’s dedication to bringing more public displays of contemporary art to Dallas. And lucky for brides, the 30-foot sculpture called “Eye” by artist Tony Tasset is now the backdrop for a new wedding and event space. The Eye is the central focus of the 11,000-square-foot outdoor venue featuring an AstroTurf ground and surrounding lush landscape. Here are the quick and dirty details of the space:
-event formats include a ceremony and/or cocktail reception
-rental rate starts at $20,000 food and beverage minimum for reception-style events; for ceremonies inquire directly
-capacity is max of 400 guests for a reception
-a tent has been custom created for the space and available for rent
-venue square footage is 11,000 square feet
-located at 1607 Main Street across from The Joule Hotel
