It’s not that hard. We promise. This week, Caitlin from D Home and I ventured over to 2524 Converse Street to one of our favorite wedding collectives to get some mid-week inspiration. (And, frankly, to get out of our snow and ice slump.) Studio 2524, a warehouse-style space, houses Southern Fried Paper stationery, floral design company The Southern Table, Ben Q Photography, and Layered Bake Shop. You can read more about the space here.
We met up with floral designer extraordinaire Maxine Owens with one goal in mind: show us how to design a simple and beautiful table arrangement that we can show our readers. The colorful creation is perfect if you’re throwing a shower, engagement party, or just want to try your hand at a pretty centerpiece for a dinner with your fiance. All it takes is some chicken wire, an opaque vase, and a run to Central Market for some buds.
And if this intrigues you, there are more ways to play. The Southern Table offers classes at their studio so you can try your hand at other types of arrangements. (Hint hint: they make a really great gift for some one-on-one mother-in-law time.)
Check out the slideshow for the step-by-step instructions.
